Party Favors
One of the touches that helps to make a celebration special is including personalized party favors that play off of the event theme. Using an electronic cutting machine, we often use vinyl to add names and logos to inexpensive favors such as shirts, tote bags, or insulated cups. Other times, I have printed some easy labels for candy treats that correspond with the theme.
Here are some of our favors for past parties:
I like to find favors that can be enjoyed well after the party. I avoid inexpensive plastic carnival prizes at all costs. As a mother, I personally dislike that piddly stuff that my kids never want to actually play with (yet can never part with). Even worse is when they do get attached to something cheap only to feel devastated when it inevitably breaks.
Instead of a bag of these “token” toys, I aim for one nicer item that will be appreciated by both kids and parents alike. They don’t have to be expensive. I find that a container of bubbles is always a hit for the younger crowd. Better yet, it can be customized to the party theme with a cute label that takes something inexpensive like bubbles and makes it feel more special.
One of Cindy’s best party favor ideas was to send kids home from the Willy Wonka party with toothpaste, toothbrushes, and floss - perfect for use right after consuming a crazy amount of candy!
If you are throwing a party with a popular theme, check out Etsy for some fun themed party favor options. If items you like aren’t there, there might be adorable packaging items for purchase. I found the Harry Potter themed pillow boxes online and they worked well for a cute necklace favor.
