Hailey's Birthday Par-Tea
We loved getting to help celebrating Hailey with her 7th Birthday. Hailey is my next door neighbor and she is beautiful inside and out. Kind, loving and incredibly thoughtful. I enjoyed working with her Mom, Tiffany to bring Hailey’s birthday party vision to life. Hailey wanted to have a “Spar-tea” where guests would be treated to spa activities like a mani and pedi as well as a tea party. Guests were asked to dress up for the occasion wearing pretty dresses. It was fun to watch the girls arrive in their best dresses and big smiles, they were in for a big treat!
I absolutely love the color selection for this party. Hailey picked it herself: pink, coral, white and teal. We incorporated these colors into all aspects. For the tea-party table, we lined it with a simple plastic teal table cloth. Tiffany had the idea to then cover it with lace to give it a nice soft, elegant look. We then set each place setting and added real tea-cups on top. Each tea cup was different from the next, giving an eclectic feel. We found adorable and inexpensive tiered stands to run down the table that served simple finger foods and fruit for the guests. Finger sandwiches were cut with cookie cutters into fun shapes.
Each plate had a floral crown for each child to wear during the party and to take home.
For the desert tablescape, Tiffany (Hailey’s Mom) found an adorable backdrop. Note the backdrop comes folded and will need to be steamed or gently ironed before being hung to get all of the fold marks out. We framed the backdrop with color blocked balloons to make a bold statement. We lined the table with a pink cloth tablecloth and added lace overlay over the top for the soft romantic look.
Hailey’s Dad, Blake had the idea to wear his Sunday best suit and served the girls as if he was a butler. Instead of actual tea, Hailey and her guests enjoyed hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and sprinkles. The girls absolutely loved it all!
The Birthday cake was absolutely darling, shaped like a tea kettle covered in coral dots and teal frosting flowers. The cake was made by Sweetly Baked Creations based in Tacoma, WA.
The cupcake toppers were an etsy find from Craftygeekoneflowers that we could not pass up once we saw them. They were absolutely beautiful and the shop owner was lovely to work with.
For an activity the girls decorated flip flops in ribbons, jewels and flowers. Each girl was also given a kimono robe to wear during the spa activities and were able to take home as a party gift. The Kimono robes were from an Etsy shopped named HCCreation and can be customized as well.
Guests were pampered with a spa like experience of manicures and pedicures.
The girls were pampered with mani’s and pedi’s in the spa area set up. During the party everyone was having so much fun, we forgot to snag photos of the set up during the daytime.
For the desert tablescape we added a mix of finger food deserts, fresh flowers and artificial flowers. The table was kept simple and beautiful.
An adorable station was set up with the party favors on display. The favors were given to the girls at the beginning of the party so they could pull out their kimono’s and spa sandals to decorate. Inexpensive spa themed printables were posted around the party space at the different stations.
For the balloons we used a mixture of 5” and 11” balloons. We use Qualatex brand of balloons whenever possible. Bargain Balloons generally have the best priced balloons and selection. However, there is a balloon shortage at the moment so they are out of stock of some colors and sizes. If you need to find these colors elsewhere, like on Amazon, search for “Qualatex (the color, size) balloons. All balloons linked below are to bargain balloons. To achieve the look from the Spa-tea party, you will need a pack of each color and size (11 inch, 5 inch).
Qualatex balloon colors used: Coral, Pearl Mint Green, Pink, White, Fashion Rose
