Molly's Valentine's Birthday Brunch
My friend Andrea asked me to help with a balloon garland for her daughter, Molly’s 10th birthday. I was 100% in and so excited to get to work because I adore Miss Molly and wanted to ensure she had the perfect garland to fit her sweet personality. Molly’s birthday is in the same week as Valentine’s Day and wanted to have a Valentine theme. I’ve always admired Andrea’s design aesthetic in her home decor and her celebrations and looked forward to collaborating with her on Molly’s Bday set up.
Color theme for the party: mainly varying shades of pink with pops of red and white sprinkled in. We landed on a white to hot pink ombre balloon garland with sweet faced hearts sprinkled in. I have to say, this might be my favorite garland to date! It was just so playful and organic, I love how it turned out and even more importantly, Molly loved it too!

The celebration was a small family brunch at home. The decor included pops of pink, red and white throughout the kitchen and table area.

Running down the table, Andrea placed heart placemats over one another to give the effect of a table runner. Pink and red melamine plates were set with heart themed napkins, straws and festive cups. It all came together nicely. The plates were purchased at Target over the past two Valentine’s seasons and sold out quickly. Generally Valentine’s decor launches at Target right after Christmas so you have to keep your eyes open if you want to score some of the items. We have sourced alternatives below if you are looking to replicate our look.

Once the main balloon garland was hung we had some extra balloons left over. Andrea had the great idea to add the extra balloons in the window where the drink station was set. I don’t think this area could of been any cuter. The drink station was garnished with honeycomb diamonds with rose gold tassels.

When I was dreaming up the balloon garland design, I found the most adorable heart shaped balloons with sweet smiley faces on them. They were sooooo Molly and couldn’t have been more perfect. They are linked below along with the rest of the balloon colors and sizes used.
The party set up was perfect in every way for a small, at home birthday party. I am so thankful I was able to help Molly celebrate her big day! Andrea reported that Molly absolutely loved it and had the very best birthday!
For the balloons we used a mixture of 5” and 11” balloons. We use Qualatex brand of balloons whenever possible. Bargain Balloons generally have the best priced balloons and selection. However, there is a balloon shortage at the moment so they are out of stock of some colors and sizes. If you need to find these colors elsewhere, like on Amazon, search for “Qualatex (the color, size) balloons. All balloons linked below are to bargain balloons. To achieve the look from the Valentine’s party, you will need a pack of each color and size (11 inch, 5 inch).
