Hippity Hop - Kid's Easter Party
Some of my very favorite parties to style are Easter events. I love the pastel colors, crisp gingham prints, lovely, fresh flowers and of course, THE BUNNIES! I am a rabbit person and love to collect the rabbit items that come out this time of year. Getting to throw a little bunny themed event or Easter party just tickles me!
With this event I found some of the adorable Spritz spring party collection from Target (floral plates, blue gingham napkins, gingham mini plates, gold plastic silverware, and daisy felt garland) and combined them with some cute Meri Meri bunny plates and carrot napkins. I used some fun paper craft projects to tie to two sets together and used my Silhouette Cameo electronic cutter to make some fun bunny party elements.
Cal & Janie enjoying the Hippity Hop Party in their bunny ear glasses. These glasses were easy to make out of card stock paper with a Silhouette cutting machine and went perfectly with he look and style of the party. I edited the glasses to remove the ears to lay over the bunny plates and then added this 3D paper bow to the other bunnies.
The Spritz Target collection came with coordinating cups but I love to use simple Silhouette paper cuts to make embellishments for these little milk glasses. These have been used over and over and look adorable with the rabbit ears & bows, or simple daisy design over a strip of cornflower blue paper. These simple embellishments could also be added to a simple paper cup to create a similar effect.
These bunny treat boxes are so much fun! I used these cuts from Amy Robison in the Silhouette Design Store (there is also an adorable chick) about 5 years ago with an Easter treat exchange with friends and they have remained one of my favorites because they are SO easy to make on a electronic cutting machine. The favor wrap cuts as just one piece and then you add the pink nose and ears and the eyes can be cut or added on with a pen, but the little whiskers are my favorite part. I stapled little baggies of jelly beans inside them to the backside and then glue to ears together to get them to stand upright.
My cute little bunnies in their bunny ear glasses. Our state is still taking lots of Covid precautions but hopefully next year their neighborhood pals will be able to join theme for a brunch after our egg hunt. We have so many lovely memories of celebrating with our awesome neighbors the weekend before Easter and this type of kid friendly, casual and inexpensive table scape would be perfect for that type of occasion. Maybe even an Easter brunch kids table or casual Easter celebration. And for all my fellow bunny fanatics, remove the Easter elements and use these decorations for a Spring Birthday or even a “Some Bunny Turns One” party. That was the theme for Janie’s 1st birthday, so look for that throwback event to be spotlighted soon.
